Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Call; must bring picture ID and proof of address

Eligibility:

**Each consumer works with a counselor in their area who can assist them in:
*Determining eligibility
*Setting an employment goal
*Developing a program for Vocational Rehabilitation services to achieve that goal
*Learning to navigate the job-placement and job-retention process

To be eligible for the Prevention of Blindness Program services you must:
*Meet financial requirements
*Not be covered by any health insurance program


Vocational Rehabilitation Eligibility based on the following:
*Seeking services to prepare for, enter in or retain gainful employment
*Having a central visual acuity of 20/200 in the better eye with best corrective lens or a visual field of 20 degrees or less (legal blindness)
*Having a progressive visual disability that will result in legal blindness
*Requiring and benefiting from Vocational Rehabilitation services
*Living in South Carolina


Older Blind Services Eligibility:
*Be at least 55 years old
*Provide evidence of legal blindness or a progressive eye pathology, in both eyes, which could lead to legal blindness
*Require services to maintain independence
*Be a resident of South Carolina

Childrens Services Eligibility:
*Legally blind children, ages 3-12, may receive assistance through our Children!€™s Services.
