For eligible homeowners, this program provides:
*Mortgage Payment Assistance
*Mortgage Reinstatement
*Assistance with Delinquent Property Taxes
*Assistance with Delinquent Utilities
*Government or Nonprofit Down Payment Assistance Loans

Intake Process:

To apply, visit website and click the "Homeowner Application" button. You will be asked to create an account, fill out the application, and upload required documents. For assistance, call 803.702.5222.

In some counties there are in-person applicant help centers. Please visit website and click the "in-person help" button to see if there is a center near you.

Required documents:
A Valid, Government-Issued Photo I.D.
Proof of Home Ownership (deed, property tax bill, etc.)
Proof of income (tax return, W-2, 1099, etc.)
Copies of the following may also be required: mortgage statement, utility bill, HOA invoice, down payment loan statement

You will need to provide your Social Security Number, but agency does not need a copy of your social security card.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
Be a South Carolina resident who owns and occupies an eligible property.
-An Eligible property is located in SC and is your occupied, primary residence.
-An Eligible property is also one to four units--specifically, a single-family home (detached or attached), a condominium, or a mobile/manufactured home.
Have experienced a financial hardship associated with the COVID-19 pandemic that began or continued after January 21, 2020.
Have a household income is equal to or less than 150% of your area median income (AMI) or $79,900 per year, whichever is greater. (Note: agency will provide an online calculator for you to estimate income eligibility).
Have NOT received the same assistance from another federal, state, local, or tribal source.
