General Emergency Assistance Program (rent, prescription medication, food, car repair), call 1-844-769-6448 to schedule a pre-screening time on Friday starting at 8:00am if you live in Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester counties.

Provides limited EMERGENCY assistance with: Emergency must have occurred within last 30 days - documentation required
*eyeglasses
*mortgage payment assistance
*fire victims assistance, (must have a police report or documentation from Red Cross)
*medical bills
*prescriptions for life-threatening diseases such as high blood pressure and insulin
*rent assistance
*limited car repairs in support of employment **must be currently employed**

Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Must have an appointment.

Call-in hours for an appointment: 8:00am Friday mornings

Intake Process:

*Must have an appointment, do not walk in.

Eligibility:

To determine eligibility the applicant must provide:
*State-issued picture ID with current address for applicant
*Social security cards for all household members
*Proof of income for all household members within the past 30 days prior to application
*Proof of sustainable monthly income
*Delinquent bill for past 30 days prior to application date
*Eviction notice (if one has been served)
*Documentation of an emergency that affected income for all household members within the past 30 days of application date
